SENIOR TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER (JAPAN)

 Senior Technical Project Manager (System Architecture / Cybersecurity / Enterprise Development) oversees requirements definition, architecture review, development management, and security response for large-scale system/application development projects in the mobility and enterprise domains.

What You’ll Do

As development is conducted in collaboration with overseas teams (primarily in Asia), you will participate in daily progress sharing meetings in English.
 

While this is a technically-oriented PM position, you do not need to be an active developer. (However, a technical background is essential.)
 

Main Responsibilities

  • Requirements organisation and clarification of non-functional requirements

  • Review of technical documents and design materials

  • Technical feasibility assessment of projects

  • Driving the entire development lifecycle (from proposal to release)

  • Stakeholder coordination (customers, internal teams, overseas teams)

  • Improvement of development/QA/operations processes

  • Risk and security risk management

  • Recruitment and mentoring of team members

Work Location

  • Japan, primarily remote

  • Customer site visits required (Tokyo and Nagoya)

  • Overseas business travel required

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a technically-oriented project manager in the enterprise domain

  • Practical experience in customer negotiations and requirements definition

  • Technical understanding sufficient for requirements definition and basic technical review (API, DB, cloud architecture, logging, security fundamentals—ability to "discuss" and "make decisions" on these topics)

  • Experience working with overseas development teams, or willingness to do so

  • Native speaker of Japanese

  • Ability to participate in daily English meetings (simple business English)—fluency not required; reading, writing, asking questions, and sharing progress is sufficient

 

​Advanced Qualifications

  • Experience utilising AWS IaaS/PaaS

  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect / Security)

  • Development experience in Python / Golang / TypeScript

  • Design skills (API design, DB design, cloud design)

  • Understanding of microservices architecture

  • Kafka / Event-driven Architecture

  • Knowledge of Kubernetes applications

  • CI/CD and test automation expertise

  • Understanding of large-scale time-series data processing

  • Agile and Scrum Master experience

  • Knowledge of security standards (OWASP, etc.)

  • SRE/DevOps experience

  • Knowledge of AI-driven software development

  • Experience developing and operating AI Agents
